Hints for popular blog sites and software

Please keep in mind that since blog hosts are constantly upgrading or changing their features, we can't offer any guarantee that this clock will work with your blog host, even if it is listed below, nor can we offer direct tech support for you. We can only provide this info as a guide to help suggest ways that have worked in the past with these sites.

In general, look for an option to view the HTML code on your template or when posting an entry where you would like to place a clock. Many blog sites will allow our "Option 2: Embed HTML code" to be used.

Blogger / BlogSpot.com

Template:

The new Blogger (using your Google account) offers new layout based templates. If you have your clock the way you want it configured, click

If you prefer to do this manually, click on the link to "Add a Page Element" to your Layout, look for the HTML/Javascript option and click on Add to blog. In the Configure screen that opens, you can give it a title and then paste the Object HTML Code into the Content box.

The old Blogger allows you to use the Object HTML Code in your template, as long as you put it between the <body> and </body> tags. For best results, look for the section with your sidebar or "menu" and paste the provided Object HTML Code below the <$BlogMemberProfile$> tag.

Entry:    use the Embed HTML code

Joomla

Module:    Users of Joomla 1.5 can use this module to add a clock to your site.

blog.co.uk / blog.ca / blog.de / blog.fr / blog.com.es / blogs.fi / blogs.no / blogs.dk / blogs.ro

Entry:    Look for a toolbar button to Show HTML. If you don't see it, you may need to look for an option to switch to the new editor first. Once in HTML mode, use the Embed HTML Code.

MySpace.com

Template:    On the Customize Your Blog options on MySpace, you can choose to create "Your Own Header HTML". This section allows you to use the Embed HTML code to place a clock at the top of your blog.
Entry:

On a new blog entry, you should check the box to View Source and paste in the Embed HTML code from above.

Two caveats though: MySpace doesn't allow the transparent background so the area around the clock will show up as white. It also adds a "..>..>" above the clock.

TypePad

Template:    Customize your clock as desired above. Please note that a smaller size of clock may work best, such as the 150px size. When ready, click

You will be asked to login to your TypePad account and then a "widget-ized" version of this clock will be added to your blog layout.

Windows Live Spaces (was MSN Spaces)

Entry:    To add to a new Blog entry, first remove the city name from the field above and update the HTML Code. Second, look for the option at the bottom of a new entry to "Embed Video". Finally, paste in the Embed HTML Code from above into the popup box.

WordPress

Template:    Download and activate the Sidebar plugin if you don't already have it. In the Presentation Options, click on Sidebar Widgets and drag a new Text widget to your sidebar. Click on your new Text widget to add both a label and to paste in the Object HTML Code.
Entry:    supports the Object HTML Code if you click on the Code tab to insert in your post.

Xanga

Template:    Look for the option to change the "Look and Feel" of your Xanga page. Scroll to the bottom and look for the box for Website Stats and paste in the Embed HTML code above. You may also prefer to have the clock centered on the page, so you can type in something like <div align="center"> before the embed code and </div> after the embed code. (If you are a premium user, you can use the Custom Module box instead of Website Stats.)
Entry:    Check the box to Edit HTML on a new entry and paste in the Embed HTML Code from above.
