Falkland Island Time is four hours behind the Coordinated Universal Time standard, written as an offset of UTC - 4:00. That means to find the standard time in the zone you must subtract four hours from Coordinated Universal Time.
Territories observing the time zone are primarily in South America or the Atlantic. It runs through the Falkland Islands which is actually considered part of South America, and sometimes referred to as part of the Atlantic Islands. Those in the zone also call it Falkland Islands Standard Time or FKST.
During fall to winter months Falkland Island Time is used, and then during Daylight Saving (spring to summer months) Falkland Islands Summer Time or FKST is used.
